Archers target world ranking points as Asia Cup Leg II heads to Sulaymaniyah
The second leg of the Sulaymaniyah 2026 Asia Cup takes place from 25 to 29 October, with around 106 archers from 19 nations competing for medals and world ranking points.
Originally scheduled for April, the event was postponed amid geopolitical concerns and now takes place during a busy period in the international calendar.
With India, China and several other Asian archery nations absent, Bangladesh and Kazakhstan will have an opportunity to build on their recent success at the opening Asia Cup stage in Bangkok.
Bangladesh made history by winning its first-ever Asia Cup gold in the compound men’s team event. Kazakhstan also claimed gold in both the compound women’s team and recurve women’s team events, as well as bronze in the compound mixed team.
Both nations will look to carry that momentum into stage two, while other competitors will also be aiming for podium finishes and valuable world ranking points at Sulaymaniyah Sport Club.
With several leading nations missing and world ranking points at stake, Sulaymaniyah offers a chance for the participating teams to deliver strong performances on the international stage.
