Italian Olympic Selection for London 2012 Announced
The Italian Archery Federation (FITARCO) has announced the Olympic and Paralympic teams that will represent Italy at the London 2012 Olympic Games. The Italian Archery Federation (FITARCO) has announced in a press conference in Florence, in the wonderful location of the town hall, Palazzo Vecchio, the Olympic and Paralympic teams that will represent Italy at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The FITARCO President and World Archery Vice President Mario SCARZELLA, with the presence of the Vice-Mayor of Florence Dario NARDELLA, and the Italian Olympic Committee’s authorities, announced for the men Marco GALIAZZO, Michele FRANGILLI, Mauro NESPOLI, and for the women Natalia VALEEVA, Jessica TOMASI and Pia LIONETTI: they will compose the Olympic Italian Team in Great Britain (Luca MELOTTO and Guendalina SARTORI will be at disposition).
Oscar DE PELLEGRIN, captain of the Paralympic Italian Archery Team, chosen by the Italian Paralympic Committee as flag bearer of the Italian delegation at the London 2012 Paralympic Games, announced the team, him and the other 9 components:
Recurve W2: Oscar DE PELLEGRIN, Vittorio BARTOLI, Elisabetta MIJNO, Veronica FLORENO, Mariangela PERNA; Recurve Standing: Mario ESPOSITO; Compound Open: Alberto SIMONELLI, Giampaolo CANCELLI; Compound W1: Fabio Luca AZZOLINI, Gabriele FERRANDI.
At the end of the press conference, with the presence of many media and tourists from every part of the world, the Italian team ran an archery exhibition in Piazza della Signoria, the very note and beautiful square in front of Palazzo Vecchio.
