6 Februray 2006 - New FITA World Ranking for Field Archery

New FITA World Ranking for Field Archery Lausanne - 6 February 2006   A new FITA world ranking for Field Archery starts on April 1, 2006 with 44 tournaments in 21 countries. This is part of a two year test period as agreed by the FITA Congress in Madrid.   The first Field Archery World Ranking promises to be a great success with all renown Field Archery nations joining the 2006 ranking.   44 tournaments in 21 different countries over four continents will decide on the 2006 Field Archery World Ranking to crown the best and most consistent Field Archers over the season.   Unique is that not just the traditional FITA bow divisions qualify, but also Longbow archers will be able to compete on a worldwide basis.   The Field Archery World Ranking will start April 1st in Italy to come to a conclusion on November 19th in Australia.   Highlight of course will be the FITA Field Archery World Championships in Götheborg, Sweden that also qualifies as a World Ranking event.   The progress of the archers can be monitored on the FAWR web site: www.archeryranking.org   We wish all archers competing lots of success.   René Koot Responsible for FITA Field World Ranking
