1 Month to go for World Cup

Lausanne - April 10, 2006. In a month the first Archery World Cup series will begin in Porec, Croatia. This is the start of a new era for archery, showcasing individual single elimination matches at its best in spectacular setting. The top archers will gather in four qualifying events during the year: Porec, Croatia, May 9-13 Antalya, Turkey, June 7-10 San Salvador, El Salvador, June 20 -25 Shanghai, China, September 27 – 30 After these 4 events, the top 4 individuals in each category (recurve men and women, compound men and women) will be invited for the Final in Merida (MEX), at the feet of the Maya pyramids of Chichen-Itza.   More than 150’000 USD in Prize money will be awarded during this event!   The media interest is already growing around the World Cup and FITA is in contact with many major broadcasters in the world to ensure a wide coverage.   We are truly looking forward to the kick-off of a new era and great World Cup in Porec, May 9-13, 2006!
