Flash Quotes of the day

San Salvador - June 20, 2006

Reo Wilde (USA) : Compound Men

How was the trip to El Salvador ?

Ok.

What do you think of El Salvador ?

It is hot.

How do you think the competition will go ?

The competition here in men compound will be pretty tough.

Are you afraid ?

Afraid, no. There were many guys in Porec, including tough archers such as Morgan Lundin from Sweden and Morten Boe from Norway. But all the World Cup leaders are present in San Salvador and therefore the competition will be very interesting.

Daniel Muñoz (COL) : Compound Men

How was the trip to El Salvador ?

It was the first time that I took the plane, at take off the feeling was very exiting, and then it was ok.

What do you think of El Salvador ?

It is a very beautiful country with a lot of diversity, from which I am surprised. I did not think it was like this.

How do you think the competition will go ?

Actually, it is my first international competition, but I am not afraid. The only thing is that the other archers are much bigger (in height and weight) than me. The mood of the official training was quite calm to me, but I believe that as the competition will start, it will become more active and exiting.

What is your best personal score ?

1340 in a FITA Round.

Robinson Alvarez (COL) : Recurve Men, 14 years old : youngest archer of the competition

How was the trip to El Salvador ?

I slept all along the flight.

What do you think of El Salvador ?

It is nice and very hot, but for me Colombia is much better.

How do you think the competition will go ?

As Daniel Muñoz, it is also my first international competition, but I am quite anxious about it. My personal prognostic about my shooting is good, and my goal in this competition is to beat my country teammates. The other international archers are far too good and therefore unreachable to me.

Juan Carlos Stevens (CUB) : Recurve Men

How was the trip to El Salvador ?

The trip was good and short.

What do you think of El Salvador ?

It is my first time in El Salvador, I have one of my best friends living here, but never got the chance to visit it before. I think it is a very beautiful and calm place where I feel like at home, Cuba.

How do you think the competition will go ?

As I mentioned before, I feel like at home here, so now I feel very confident and will shoot well as I always do. The other archers present are of very high standard and of good implementation, so the competition will be of very high level.

Who do you think is going to win in your category ?

Simply the best one ! The one that will handle the best the thing. And as we say in Cuba : The field will give the last word.

Do you have any idols in archery ?

I like the Korean style a lot, but not a particular one.
