USA and Korea for two new World Records ! Merida – 20 October 2006     Compound Junior Men Team USA has set a new World Record for the 24-Arrow Final Match in the 1/2 final of the Junior World Championships in Merida: the young Compound Junior archers, John Fleury, Zachary Plannick and Paul Tedford have score 233 points in their match against Mexico (final score 233-211).   In the gold final the Americans will be facing the Danish juniors who have defeated Canada in a very close match (224-223). The Canadians will, for their part, compete to the Mexicans for the bronze medal.   Recurve Junior Women The Korean Recurve Junior Women have also set a new World Record this morning in their semi-final to Germany: with 223 points with their 24 arrows, the three “Kims” (Kim Soyun, Kim Sugyung and Kim Hyewon) have improved by 3 points their record of yesterday!   The world champion title will be decided between the Korean young ladies and the Russians who have defeated Chinese Taipei on the score of 213-210.
