Russia and Japan on the podium again!
Moscow - 8 March 2007
The 8th Ski Archery World Championships have come to their end today at the Planernaya Sport Center near Moscow, under a beautiful sunshine and almost spring conditions, with the individual races.
In this race where there is no penalty loop, but one minute penalty time for each missed arrow, Japanese Men athletes have once again shown their great progress in the discipline in winning both Bronze (Urano Hiroyuki) and Gold (Takuya Yamada). They were accompanied on the podium by Russian Kirill Maltsev.
And once again in the Women’s competition, the Russian ladies have celebrated their National Women’s day in winning the 3 podium positions: Gold Medal for Valentina Linkova, Silver for Ekaterina Lugovkina and Bronze for Olga Kozlova. Eventually the Best Archers Awards of these World Championships go to Ivan Maradin (SLO) and Nadia Peyrot (ITA). This concluded the 2007 World Championships which were then declared officially closed by the President of the Russian Archery Federation Mr Vladimir Esheev. RESULTS & RANKING Françoise Dagouret
