Izmir - 15 March 2007
The Juniors opened a long day of eliminations matches on Thursday morning. They were followed by the Seniors. In the afternoon, the junior teams and the senior teams took the floor.
Recurve Junior Men
The first surprise of the day was made by Nesemann (GER) who ranked 31st and beat Shamatrin (UKR), ranked 2nd in the qualifications, 115-112 in the 1/16 Elimination Round. He then followed his way up to the quarterfinals where he shot against Belov (RUS), who finally beat Nesemann by 4 points. Belov is going to the Semi-Final against Senyuk (UKR), tomorrow.
The other archers qualified for the semi-finals of tomorrow are Tedford (USA), without surprise as he ranked 1st in the Qualification, who will shoot against the Shakirov (RUS).

The leader of the qualifications, Pan (TPE), was surprisingly kicked out of the competition by Benatti (ITA), 104-112 in the quarterfinals. Pan had shot the highest score of the competition so far (116) in her previous match against Knupfer (GER).
Benatti will then shoot against Kuular (RUS) in the first semi-Final, and the second one will be shot between Veselovska (UKR) and Fedorova (RUS).

Marbacher (SUI) earned a really high score in his quarter beating Day (USA) 118 – 115 pts. The only 14th seeded Abidduev (RUS) had more difficulties vs. Kalmaru (GBR) and needed to go through a tie-break to reach the semis. They played a very tight match: 56-56 after 6 arrows, 113-113 after 12 arrows. The last man is van Huffel (FRA) who beat Fanti (ITA) 115-112.
