However, only one of their male compatriots has survived the battle of the single elimination matches!   Recurve Men Thanks to the advantage given to the organizing country, there were as much as six Korean men at the beginning of the match play this afternoon. Believe it or not, there was only one in the quarter-final. Im Dong Hyun saved the Korean honour this time, beating Xue Hai Feng (CHN) 105-95 pts to reach the semi-finals. What about the other Koreans? The biggest surprise of the day was the defeat of World Cup 2006 winner Park Kyung Mo vs. young French Thomas Aubert (4th place at the Junior World Championships 2006). Aubert achieved the greatest performance of his young career winning 107–106 in the second round.   Di Buo (ITA) worked hard versus the Koreans, beating two of them. He defeated Yon Dal Hyun 109-100 pts in the second round, then Lee Chang Hwan 108-107 in the third. However, the road of the Italian was stopped by Kuo Cheng Wei (TPE) in quarterfinal (103-110). The archer from Chinese Taipei previously beat Jang Yong Ho (KOR) by 106-105. Kuo Cheng Wei will meet Im Dong Hyun in the semi-final.   Tsyrempilov (RUS) was another veteran that had a successful day. He will meet a surprising Wang Cheng Pang (TPE) in the semi. Wang beat Kim Sung Hoon (KOR) in the second round, then Olympic bronze medallist Cuddihy (AUS) and Saidiyev (KAZ) in the quarter (104-102).   Another exciting match in Recurve Men was the second rounder between Michele Frangilli (ITA) and Wan Mohd Khalmizam (MAS). The Malaysian won after a triple arrow shoot-off (10-9 at last)!      Zhang Juan Juan (CHN) Recurve Women Asian archers have dominated in their home-soil and eight of them reached the quarterfinals. Seeded first, the new-comer Choi Eun Young did not shake. She met Zhao Ling (CHN) in the quarter. The match was close all along (26-25 after three arrows, 48-48 after six, 74-73 after nine), but Choi prevailed a score of 100-98 at the end.   World Cup 2006 winner Zhang Juan Juan met Olympic Champion and recent Asian Champion Park Sung Hyun (KOR) in another quarter. Finally, one single bad arrow from Zhang in the last end gave the victory to Park, 100-99.   Yun Ok Hee (KOR) met Dola Banerjee (IND) in another close match: 25-25, 49-50, 76-76, but Yun won 103-101.
