Lausanne
"Good Luck Beijing" - Olympic Test Event
Beijing, China - 20-26 August 2007
Welcome Message
Dear President of BOCOG,
Dear President of the Chinese Archery Federation,
Distinguished Officials,
Dear Judges,
Dear Volunteers
Dear Archers,
For FITA the Good Luck tournament in Beijing is the final leg before the opening of the Beijing Olympics in a race that started six years ago when Beijing was honoured to host the Olympic Games.
We are here to see what the status of the preparation is of all involved including the archers and they will show to the Chinese public what they can expect in one year from now. We are very much looking forward to a very exciting competition from which we will learn some valuable lessons to make the Olympic Games the best ever. FITA is very impressed with the preparations so far and we enjoy an excellent cooperation.
We look very much forward to using this new venue which is very impressive. The archers competing here in the Good Luck tournament will have a competitive edge over the ones that are not participating when it will come to the actual Olympics because they will have lived that unforgettable experience of competing in Beijing.
I would like to thank all involved but especially Xiuzhi Zhang, Kotaro Hata and Juan Carlos Holgado for their hard work in relation to this event.
Yours sincerely,
Dr Ugur Erdener
FITA President
