Passing the baton within the Development Department Lausanne – 2 November 2007 Mayi Cruz Blanco    On 30 October Mrs Mayi Cruz Blanco finished her last day working for FITA. She is leaving FITA for personal reasons and will be looking for new challenges in her life. Mrs Deqa Hussen has taken over as the Development and Coaching Coordinator on 1 November.   We thank Mayi for all she has achieved in the Development Department and in particular for her efforts to bring many scholarships to the sport from Olympic Solidarity.   You will see in the next FITA annual report a huge growth of the number of 2007 Development and Coaching projects in comparison with previous years. Mayi has contributed to this tremendous achievement.   Thank you Mayi for your collaboration and our best wishes for your future!   FITA is pleased to announce that Mrs Deqa Hussen has joined the Office Staff as Development and Coaching Coordinator, taking over from Mayi Cruz Blanco.      Deqa HussenMrs Hussen is a language skilled and experienced person in sport development thanks to her former similar position in another International Federation. We are pleased to have a representative of the African continent working on the FITA Development programs, as she is from Somalia.   Deqa can speak the following languages: Italian: mother tongue English: mother tongue French: fluent (perfect writing and speaking) Spanish: good knowledge (speaking) German: basic Also some Arab           Her interests and hobbies are: History, politics, sports, music (singing), capoeira (Brazilian martial arts).   Although she has no direct experience in Archery, she has had in her previous job extensive experience on managing development programs and together with Pascal she will form a good team.   Let’s welcome Mrs Deqa Hussen among the FITA family with our best wishes!   FITA Communication
