Interview with Baljinima TSYREMPILOV (RUS)
Dubai – 22 November 2007
This afternoon the finalists of the Archery World Cup 2007 had a second opportunity to practice on a practice field set up for them in a shooting club. There we met Russian Baljinima Tsyrempilov - one of the contenders in Recurve Men - and asked him a few questions.
How does it feel to be here in Dubai?
I don’t know… I feel no difference. The only thing that is different is the place and organization.
How have you been preparing since Dover in August?
I did not prepare specifically. This year, I mainly prepared for Leipzig. After the Olympic Test Event in Beijing, I took some rest and after that I started my usual training again.
What are your expectations for this Final?
I couldn’t say. I want to win, of course, but nobody knows what will happen.
What do you think of this year’s format for this final, compared to last year’s round robin?
For me, it doesn’t make any difference, because there are only the strongest archers here.
Let’s talk about the future already! What do you plan for next year?
Next year I will try to become Olympic Champion! (Laughing…) I don’t know yet if I will take part in all World Cup events, since it is my national federation who decides.
What do you do for a leaving? Are you a full-time archer?
I’m a professional sportsman. I shoot in an army team, in the communications department.
Thanks a lot and good luck!
