23 November 2007 - Interview of Jorge JIMENEZ (ESA)

Interview of Jorge JIMENEZ (ESA) Dubai – 23 November 2007  How does it feel to be here? I am very happy, very good and very excited.   How did you prepare since Dover in August? Two hours a day, 4 to 5 times a week, as I am used to train. I just changed my speed of shooting as in the Final we are only allowed 20 seconds to shoot one arrow, instead of the usual 30.   What are your expectations? I am thinking I will win; at least it is my goal. I just hope I can do a better result than last year’s WC Final where I ended up at the third place.   What do you think of the format? I think it is better this way. Top archers hard work is rewarded with this matches order, especially for me that am first ranked. (Smiling…)   What do you think of the World Cup in general? It is just fantastic. It also attracts a lot the attention of the public so they get interested in the sport, the places where the finals are held are dreamful, it is just a much more attractive and dynamic competition.   What do you plan for next year? World Cup of course, I will also be shooting in some important US tournaments, and may be also going to some European tournaments.   What do you do for a living? I am full-time involved in archery. When I am not training I do train other archers. Basically I do development level, up to medium level. It also happens that I train some few National Team members.   Do you have any lucky charm? No, I don’t have any. I just have faith in God’s help.   Thank you and good luck, then!   Chantal Steiner FITA Communication
