Lausanne – 29 February 2008
32 coaches from 5 countries (*) attended a Level 1 Coaching Course at the FITA Middle East Archery Centre (MEAC) on February 13-18, 2008.
This course was conducted by the FITA Coaches Committee: Ken BEARMAN (Chairman - GBR), KIM Hyung-Tak (Member – KOR), Nino ODDO (Member – ITA). The FITA Development and Education Director has also lectured and coordinated this course. Mr MUN Beak Woon, MEAC Coach, has also assisted.
The course has followed the FITA Level 1 Coaching Manual enriched of the experience of the lecturers, particularly from KIM Hyung-Tak.
Theory lectures alternated with practical coaching education. The course has been translated from English to French and Arab.
The candidates have been evaluated by group through a simulation of a practical coaching session. The candidates showed that they have now several tools to well coach the novices.
A special thank to Wadi Degla Sporting Club, and particularly to Mr Aladin GABR – Secretary General FAA, for providing very a good working environment. Accommodation, food, all was fine!
(*) The five countries were: Egypt (23 participants), Greece (1), Guinea (1), Iraq (2) and Morocco (5).
