Archery under Development in Tunisia
Lausanne – 29 February 2008
The Tunisian Federation of horse riding and shooting has now an archery branch. In order to develop archery in Tunisia, they have already educated 3 archery coaches.
T latest one followed a one month course at the FITA Middle East Archery Centre (MEAC) in Cairo on October/November 2007: Mr Makram Hammami. To help him to put in practice his new archery coaching know-how, FITA gave some archery equipment to his federation.
Makram had already a group of beginners at the shooting club of Monastir, now he can coach some of them at the intermediate level.
FITA is giving a special assistance to the Mediterranean countries, especially from the South shore, in the hope to get most of them at the 2009 Mediterranean Games.
Tunisia has still a lot do for meeting that goal, but it is one more step in the right direction.
