Rzeszow is getting ready!

Now that the EMAU Indoor Championships gave a great finish to the 2008 indoor season, the specialists are already looking forwards to the big event of the 2009 winter: the Indoor World Championships in Rzeszow, Poland.
As a Test Event, the organizers set up the World Indoor Club Teams trophy that turned out to be a real showcase for the Eastern European club teams as well as some teams from Netherlands, Latvia, and Estonia. The Ukraine was strongly represented with some university- and club teams. Of course the local heroes from Poland were also present.   After the opening ceremony on Friday the competition started on Saturday with the ranking round. Although the regional archers put on a nice display of archery, the top guns who were present did what was expected and ranked in the top spots. Only eight athletes per category could qualify for the Sunday Individual and Teams finals and as expected the Ukraine was strongly represented in each category. For instance, in the Recurve Women division, Archery World Cup shooters Hanna Marusava (BLR) and Malgorzata Cwienzcek (POL) photo battled for the top spot with Marusava clinching the gold. With some minor changes to the script, I think Rzeszow is ready for 2009!” Photos at www.dutchtarget.com The archery fans should definitely look forward to going to the Indoor World Championships in Rzeszow, Poland, on 2-8 March 2009.   FITA Communication
