National Structure Programme in Niger
Cotonou (BEN) – 4 April 2008
This year the Niger Olympic Committee has decided to include in their development programme the national structure of archery. The opening ceremony took place on 22 March in the presence of the Minister of Sports and President of National Olympic Committee.
The first part of the programme was completed after 6 days of intensive work with the participation of 9 carpenters who learned how to make bows, arrows, bamboo accessories, etc.
During the closing ceremony the National Olympic Committee’s Secretary General declared he had been surprised by the work accomplished in such a short time. He took the opportunity to offer two bows and arrows to the Minister of Sports.
The second part of the programme consists of educating coaches though technical training sessions and teaching them the essential competition rules. The programme will be completed on 11 April 2008.
