FITA Council congratulates FITA President on being nominated for IOC Membership Athens – 6 June 2008
At the IOC Executive Board in Athens, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has decided to put forward the FITA President, Dr Ugur Erdener from Turkey, as a candidate for the IOC Membership. The other nominee is Mr Sergey Bubka from Ukraine. Dr Erdener is the second FITA President to be nominated for the IOC Membership but it is the first time in the capacity as IF President. Our Honorary President, Mr James L. Easton, was appointed as an individual member at the IOC Session in Paris in 1994. FITA is delighted with this news and now awaits the decision at the next IOC Session in Beijing in August. FITA Communication
