World Cup Stage 4 – Quotes of the Day 4

Recurve Men
Morillo Daniel (ESP) Yesterday I've got the Olympic place and today we reached the bronze medal final. I still cannot believe it is true. We are working hard on our preparation and nowadays we can see the fruits of our job. Tomorrow we'll do our best, let's see what will happen.
Cuesta Elias (ESP) – Screaming Spain Rules!!!
Thomas Aubert (FRA) Beating Italy is a sweet revenge for us — both for archery and football (smiling). Seriously, we had a good match. We were ahead the whole time. We had a 5-point lead going into the last end. We got a little nervous but we managed to control the match and won by two points.
Ilario Di Buo (ITA) We made some little changes in the team procedure but we need some more time to get used to this new system. Even if it wasn't too windy we had a low score and France overtook us. Probably they took their revenge after football Euro2008 tournament and the European Archery Championship (smiling).
Recurve Women
Maria Pia Lionetti (ITA) It's really a good thing to play the gold final match against the Koreans. We are training hard for the Olympic and we know that the most favourite team is the Korean one. It's a great opportunity for us to have this test against them at this moment. Then we can check our preparation and see what eventually we still miss on the road to Beijing.
Compound Men
Patrick Coghlan (AUS) The week is going very well so far. I will shoot for both the individual and the team golds tomorrow. I also already qualified for the World Cup Final in Lausanne. Nevertheless the best news of the week are the news I got about my little kid. He was diagnosed with autism and this is why I missed the Antalya World Cup Stage. This week, we had the news that it was only mild autism. We will see how he evolves in the future but that’s already great news!
Coming here, I didn’t have much expectation about the competitions because I knew that I needed a top 1-2 place to qualify for the World Cup Final. That kind of results is tough to predict. So I just wanted to do my best here and see what happens. It worked out well!
For archery, the advantage we have in Australia is that we can shoot outdoor all year long. I actually train half of the time by night and lights. I have no problem with it. I think the night session will be terrific on Saturday!
Compound Women
Maria Zempou (GRE) I was thinking: “I want 10, I want 10” — and I was getting them. However, in the last end, I got a bit more nervous and I started with an 8. I had to concentrate again and I managed an X10! At the end we won the match! We are very surprised and very happy! This is my first year in the World Cup and this will be our first final for gold tomorrow. I would feel more nervous if it was an individual final. Since it is a team final, I think we will carry on our great team spirit and I hope it will be all OK.
