France and Korea twice in Team Finals



Recurve Men Team
 1st round: Korea - Canada
The first end of this match was tied at 52 pts. Korea scored a better second end and took the lead with 107-106. As the Canadians shot three 8s in the third end, the Koreans increased their advantage to 162-159 and continued to the end of the match in the same vein to clinch it with a final score of 219-211 for Korea.
  1st round: Italy - France
The French archers took the lead in the first end by 2 pts with 54-52 and kept it up to the second end with 108-106. France was able to increase its advantage as Italy shot a 7 in the third end (165-160). France went on to easily win the match as Italy was not able to recover. Final score: 215-213.
  Quarterfinal: Korea - India
India was ahead in the first end with 55-53. Unfortunately for them, Korea could take over the lead as the Indians shot a 7, and Korea had a good end (9-10-10-8-9-9) and scored 108-105. Indian let themselves down and scored another low end with two 7s (165-157) and could finally not recover. Korea won the match with 212-209.
 Semi-final: Korea - Russia
Korea took the lead in this match not giving Russia a chance to upset them. The intermediary scores were: 54-50, 108-100, 165-152 and finally 221-208.

Korea will shoot for Gold on Saturday against Malaysia, while Russia will shoot for Bronze against Spain.
  Semi-final: Spain - Malaysia
Malaysia was shooting very well scoring 56 pts in the first end, while Spain could only manage 52 pts. Malaysia did not let their chance go and continued to lead the match until the end with 111-100, 165-155 and finally 215-211.

Malaysia goes for Gold against Korea, and Spain for Bronze against Russia!
  Recurve Women Team
  1st round: Japan - USA
USA took a good advantage as of the first end, as Japan scored a 6 and 7, with 53-48. The American ladies did not let their opponents get too close and kept leading the match to the end to win easily. Final score: 208-197.
 Quarterfinal: Italy - Russia
Russia led the match from beginning to end, although Italy fought hard to try to come back with the following intermediary scores: 56-53, 108-106, 162-161 and finally 216-214. Russia advances.
  Semi-final: Korea - Great Britain
The Korean strenght was once again proved in this match, as they shot amazing ends against the British. Korea never let Great Britain get into the match. The intermediary scores were: 58-50, 116-104, 178-157 and 226-208.

Korea goes to the Gold Final against Italy, while Great Britain will fight for Bronze against another Asian country, China.
  Compound Men Team
  1st round: Great Britain - China
The Brits took a small advantage scoring 1 pt more than their opponents in the first end with 107-106. They were able to increase their lead by another point in the second end with 160-158 and continued on shooting better than their opponents to clinch the match 215-209.
  Quarterfinal: Switzerland - Spain
Both countries were tied in the first end with 57 pts each. The Spanish guys did not want to let it go and overtook the Swiss with 114-112. Spain kept on shooting well to keep their lead and finally win the match with a final score of 225-222.
 Semi-final: France - Spain
Spain was trailing as of the first end with 54-56 and could never recover. France was strong enough to keep their lead until the end and win the right to play for Gold on Saturday against Australia. End scores were: 112-109, 169-165 and finally 225-222.

Spain will go for Bronze against Canada.
  Semi-final: Australia - Canada
This match was a bit closer at the end, but they begun the match with 57-55 and 113-110 in favour of Australia. The Canadians recovered one point as they shot 167-169. Canada went on shooting another better end than their opponents, but unfortunately for them, it wasn't enough for one single point, shooting 9-9-10-10-10-10, against Australia's 10-10-10-10-9-8. Australia wins with 226-225 and will shoot for Gold on Saturday against France.

Canada will shoot for Bronze against Spain.
  Compound Women Team
  Quarterfinal: Greece - Venezuela
The Greek archers led in the first end with 110-104 and never conceded the lead. Greece won the match with a final score of 221-208.
 Semi-final: Russia - Greece
Russia led in the first end with 53-52. In the second end, one of the Russian's arrows hit the 6 and made room for the Greeks to tie the match at 106-106. The Greeks did not want to let go this opportunity and continued to tie third end at 160 pts. As the Russians shot 10-9-9-9-8-9 in the last end, the Greeks benefited from their 8-10-10-10-9-9 to clinch the match! Final score 216-214 for Greece!

Greece will shoot for Gold on Saturday against France, while Russia will fight for Bronze against Iran.
  Semi-final: Iran - France
The first end was led by Iran with 58-57, but they could not handle it in the second end as they shot a 6, which allowed the French to take the lead with 114-108 and they finally never let go. France won the match with 227-220 and will play for Gold on Saturday against Greece, while Iran will have to shoot for Bronze against Russia.
