Olympic Games Beijing 2008 - Introduction
Lausanne
Olympic Games
Beijing (CHN) - 9-15 August 2008
President's Message
Dear friends of archery,
The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games are just around the corner and with the great combined efforts of FITA and the Beijing Organising Committee we are ready to present a truly outstanding archery event. This time we will have the largest number of participating nations ever at an Olympic archery competition which shows the development of our sport.
To the athletes and the judges, this event may be the most important one in your career. I am convinced that you will make it a great competition. In the spirit of fair play, I wish you all the best possible results.
I would like to thank everyone involved in the preparation and delivery of this archery competition at the Olympic Games. You are making a great contribution to our sport and we thank you for your continued support of archery at the Olympic Games as our 128 athletes honour the tradition of the Olympic history.
As you can see, 2008 is turning into an extremely important year for archery and archers: the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games in Beijing, the World Cup Final in Lausanne, and the Youth World Championships in Kundu-Antalya, altogether provide us all with great opportunities for growth, development and excellence.
I wish you an enjoyable and memorable Olympic Games.
