New Schedule of Competitions

Updated Detailed Schedule (version 5, 20h30 on 3 September) Twelve targets will be shot on Thursday by each division for the second day of qualifications. The three courses have been redesigned with only twelve targets, taking safety as the highest consideration. To facilitate the competition, the Recurve Men, Compound Men, Barebow Men, Recurve Junior Men and Barebow Junior Women will shoot in the morning. The categories of Recurve Women, Compound Women, Barebow Women, Recurve Junior Women, Compound Junior Men, Compound Junior Women and Barebow Junior Men will shoot in the afternoon session.   Putting the priority on the qualifications for the 2009 World Games, the competition will then follow with Individual Eliminations on Friday and Individual Finals on Saturday. Both will be shot at the St Fagans National History Museum of Wales.   The Team Eliminations and Finals have been cancelled. The scores at the end of the two days of qualification rounds will determine the medals for the Team Event.   Each men’s or women’s team has one archer from each division (the best archer is automatically selected). The three scores are added. In the current men’s ranking Italy leads with 865 points, ahead of Sweden, 859, and Germany, 847. USA, with 842 points, Great Britain and France are on the hunt.   On the women’s side, Germany has a good lead with 989 points. Italy and Sweden follows neck to neck with 968 and 965 points. Great Britain, with 961 points, and France are not far behind.   The team medals will be presented Friday afternoon.   FITA would also like to communicate that the Compound Junior Women, the Barebow Junior Men and Women as well as the Junior teams categories are only exhibitions. This is due to the fact that the quotas of participants of these categories were not filled in at the end of the preliminary deadlines and this follows the rules of the FITA Rules.   Didier Miéville FITA Communication
