Archery for the first time in the city centre of the Olympic capital


Building the Archery World Cup Final venue      Five Olympic champions from Beijing and many world champions will be present in this competition that includes four categories—Recurve Men, Recurve Women, Compound Men and Compound Women. The semi-final matches will be shot on Saturday 27 September from 10:00 to 12:00 in the morning, while the bronze and gold finals will take place from 14:30 to 16:30 in the afternoon. The total prize money for this event is up to 150,000 USD. The final matches will be broadcast live on several TV channels around the world.   Furthermore, exhibitions are organised with the women’s Olympic Champion ZHANG Juan Juan (CHN) and the Paralympic bronze medallist Philippe HORNER (SUI) shooting on a plied copy of a 200 Swiss francs banknote. The winner will also take the money home! Another exhibition match will be a mixed double featuring the Olympic champion Viktor RUBAN (UKR) and the Swiss champion Nathalie DIELEN versus the team Olympic gold medallist PARK Sung-Hyun (KOR) and the Swiss archer Chris MARSH.   Ø       Detailed Programme   There are some tickets remaining for this event that will be sold on site at 15.00 Swiss Francs. Access to standing areas and archery initiation is free.   There will also be another initiation on Friday 26 September in St-Francois between 3:00 and 5:00 pm with World Cup Finalists signing autographs.   The venue at the Montbenon Esplanade enjoys a unique setting in Lausanne: it stands within a walking distance of the city centre and is surrounded by beautiful gardens with an unrestricted view of Lake Geneva and the mountains.   FITA Communication
