Korea shows strength in Cadet

All the archers who turn a maximum of 16 years old during the year of 2008 can compete in the cadet category of these Youth World Championships.
Recurve Cadet Men KIM Joo Wan, SHIN Jae Hun and KIM Hyun dominated this category with the first named achieving the remarkable result of 686 points. Atanu DAS (IND), Mattia VIECELI (ITA) and Maciej FALDZINSKI (POL) followed in the ranking. In the team competition, Korea led with 2025 points (grand total of the three archers). India was 2nd with 1962 and Italy 3rd with 1938.
Recurve Cadet Women
The lone Chinese archer in this category was playing neck to neck with the Koreans. With 678 points, CHEN Yeqing (CHN) is trailing LIM by only one point and had a 5-point advantage over OH Da Mee (KOR) who lied at 3rd place. TAN Ya-Ting from Chinese Taipei is 4th and Mariana AVITIA (MEX), recent quarter-finalist at the Olympic Games, was only 7th.
For the teams, Korea had a comfortable lead over Chinese Taipei, with 2008 points over 1941. Ukraine was 3rd with 1938 points.
Compound Cadet Men
SWERY had a good score of 695 points, three more than Robert BOTJI (HUN). C. A. RODRIGUEZ (MEX) and Levi CYR (USA) followed with 688 points.
With 2042 points, the USA built a decent lead over Mexico, which had 2027. At 3rd place, Great Britain had a round 2000 points, just one more than Canada.
Compound Cadet Women
PEARCE moved up during the second distance and led with 690 points. Jorina COETZEE from South Africa was 2nd with 686 points. She was just ahead of a few archers, K. S. MONTELLANO (MEX); Tristan SKARVAN (USA), Ekaterina KOROBEYNIKOVA (RUS) and G. J. TREVINO (MEX).
USA led the team with a brilliant 2056 points, ahead of Mexico and Russia.
