Olympic Congress Copenhagen 2009

Olympic Congress 2009 Copenhagen (DEN) – 3-5 October 2009   Taking the pulse of the Olympic Movement, analysing its strengths and weaknesses, evaluating the opportunities and the risks it faces: these are the challenges which IOC President Jacques ROGGE laid down by convening the next Olympic Congress, which will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, in October 2009.   Since the previous Congress, the Centennial Olympic Congress held in Paris in 1994, the world has changed. While the main concern at the previous Congress was to ensure the integration of all the constituents of the Olympic Movement, the challenge will be quite different in 2009. A guiding concept links all five themes chosen for this Olympic gathering: the role of the Olympic Movement in society and in all regions of the world.   29 September 2009: Canadian archer wins IOC video contest September 2009: Factsheet - Theme 1: The Athletes September 2009: Factsheet - Theme 2: Olympic Games September 2009: Factsheet - Theme 3: The Structure of the Movement September 2009: Factsheet - Theme 4: Olympism and Youth September 2009: Factsheet - Theme 5: The Digital Revolution 21 August 2009: What do you think is the future of the Olympics? 19 June 2009: 121st IOC Session and 13th Olympic Congress in Copenhagen 4 March 2009: Launch of Olympic Congress Series March 2009: Programme March 2009: Factsheet 10 December 2008: Virtual Olympic Congress: Deadline Extension 7 April 2008: The Virtual Olympic Congress: One Click Away!
