Indoor World Championships - Quotes of Recurve Eliminations

Recurve Men   Rafal DOBROWOLSKY (POL) photo left – Will shoot for gold on Sunday That’s a surprise for me! I thought I had some chances but I didn’t believe I would shoot that well. Of course, we train a lot indoor at 18 metres in Poland but my scores yesterday in qualifications and today during the matches are my personal best! Indoor is more of a fight. It’s more everybody can beat everybody. Look at my teammate Damian (GOLY) who qualified 31st yesterday. He took out the no. 2 seed and will shoot for bronze on Sunday.   I take my outdoor arrows to shoot indoor because I want to keep the feeling with these arrows. Again, indoor in Poland is pretty much our only possibility to prepare for the outdoor season. However, it makes it so much better when you can shoot for a gold medal at home!   Jean-Charles VALLADONT (FRA) photo right – Will shoot for bronze on Sunday This is only my second international indoor competition, my first one abroad. The first one was the Nimes tournament this year. I like indoor and I have always said I wanted to shoot it because I am gaining a lot of experience. It’s good to be on the shooting line with world class archers and compete in matches.   I am very happy I came this far. Although I made just one mistake in my semi-final that cost me the match (8 on the left), I was a little lucky with my second round match that I won in the shoot-off. Now I will concentrate for Sunday and give it all to win the bronze!   Recurve Women   Natalia VALEEVA (ITA) photo left – Will shoot for gold on Sunday The semi-final against Naomi HAYAKAWA was a match between two world champions. I just had to go on. I have to thank Marco PEDRATSI, Franco BASILE, Liudmila AJKANNIKOVA who put me back in the shape I had before I gave birth to so many children (smile...)   One more match to win on Sunday, well... that’s another day.   Karina WINTER (GER) photo right – Will shoot for gold on Sunday Now I am so nervous! I realise that I am in the final for gold! I was calmer during the matches. I want to shoot on Sunday like I did today.   FITA Communication
