Para-Archery Committee Meeting and new World Ranking system

Para-Archery Committee Meeting Lausanne – 27 March 2009   A meeting of the FITA Para-Archery Committee was held in Lausanne from 11-12 March 2009. One of the items discussed was a new system of World Ranking for para-archers based on the FITA one for target archers.   It was decided to designate the tournament to be held in Stoke Mandeville, Great Britain, on 5-11 June 2009 as a FITA Para-Archery World Ranking Event. As there are already at least ten countries entered for this event, it was felt that this would be ideal for testing the system. As a result of having this world ranking status, it is also valid for World Records and FITA Awards.   Following this, discussions would be held with nations at the Sports Forum during the world championships in August to hear the views of the nations on the new system.   FITA Communication
