COPARCO Congress 2009

The 2009 Congress of the FITA Continental Association COPARCO (Confederacion Panamericana de Tiro con Arco) was held on 25 May 2009 in Madrid, Spain. The FITA President Prof Dr Ugur ERDENER and Secretary General Mr Tom DIELEN were also present.
Prof Dr ERDENER opened the Congress and spoke about the importance of the work done by COPARCO and their members of the Americas in the development of Archery.
Mr DIELEN gave a presentation on the FITA Development Department with a focus on the Olympic Solidarity (OS) programmes from 2009 to 2012. He reminded how important it is for FITA Member Associations to receive OS funds.
Among the topics discussed at the COPARCO Congress were information about development in the Americas, reports from COPARCO President and Treasurer, information on medical and anti-doping issues, judges, continental multisite indoor competition of the Americas (MICA), new sites for World Ranking events in 2010, and continental pre-Olympic Youth Olympian spots.
