Coach's report from MEAC

Coach's report from MEAC India – 2 July 2009   Article made from the official report of an Indian archery coach to his National Olympic Committee and the IOC.   "I am Ashim Kumar KUNDU and I attended a Level 2 Archery Coaching Course held at the Middle East Archery Centre (MEAC) in Cairo, Egypt from 6 to 25 April 2009.   On the recommendation of the Archery Association of India, the Indian Olympic Association and FITA, the IOC had kindly granted me with an Olympic Solidarity Scholarship.   At the Cairo airport, I was welcome and transported by a members of the Wadi Degla Sporting Club, host of the MEAC.   Undoubtedly, it was really the greatest experience of my life, from where I learnt a lot of new things and training techniques/methods. I do hope that other course mates coming from different countries such as Estonia, China, Algeria, Tunisia, Benin and Sri Lanka have also the same sense of satisfaction.   The course emphasised more on the fundamentals, technical, mental and nutritional aspects. This course will definitely help me a lot in preparing and imparting training our trainees in a better way so as to ensure positive improvement in their performance in practical terms.   Our instructor Mr MUN Baek Woon, archery coach, has a wide knowledge of his subject and his teaching method was also very impressive to understand the difficult part of training.   The logistics including boarding, lodging, transportation and other related facilities arranged by the MEAC were very nice and up to satisfaction. The attitude and behaviour of all the staff members and connected with the course was very friendly and the entire atmosphere was very healthy and ideal for learning.   I am really thankful to the Archery Association of India and the Indian Olympic Association. I enjoyed and learnt a lot in Cairo!   With unforgettable memories,   Ashim KUNDU (IND) Archery Coach
