World Cup Stage 4 – Quotes of the Day 4

Recurve Men   Marco Galiazzo – as his luggage was lost, together with his bowcase Have you finally received your bow? Unfortunately not... and I haven’t received my clothes either.   As you were shooting with Juan Carlos Holgado’s bow, were you able to adapt to it? Yes, somehow... Anyways, it is better than having no bow at all.   Was that the reason why your shooting was not as usual? Juan Carlos’ bow is 10l lighter than mine, and with the wind blowing in the stadium, I could not do better than that.   And about the World Cup Final, are you confident on your qualification? I cannot say before we know the final results... Romain GIROUILLE (FRA) – losing in quarterfinals vs. OH (KOR) photo I am a little sad to have lost against a Korean... but I made a mistake with one 6, and in the last end, I finished the match with an 8 and he shot a 10. So he took the lead by one point to win the match.   Juan Rene SERRANO (MEX) – losing vs. TSYREMPILOV (RUS) in 1/16 Eliminations We have played twice against each other and I have lost both matches, but I will wait for him in the Ulsan World Championships final for revenge.   Crispin DUENAS (CAN) – losing against HRACHOV (UKR) in 1/8 Eliminations Dmytro started the match with 57, he shot really well. I didn’t shoot as good as I should have; I had no luck with 10s this time, although I had a good group of 9s. Some days some people are in their lucky day (for Dmytro) and some are in their unlucky day... like me!   Recurve Women   Naomi FOLKARD (GBR) – losing in quarterfinals against YUN (KOR) I was coming short on the clicker and shot two 6s. There is nothing to do with that score.   Aida ROMAN (MEX) – losing in quarterfinals vs. SCHUH (FRA) On the last arrow of the first end, I had very little time left on the clock and I had to release it... bad arrow, and in the end I recovered some points, but not enough to beat Berengere.   Berengere SCHUH (FRA) – winning the semi-final to shoot for Gold I am so relieved to have won! I took the revenge from Antalya, where I lost my match against another Korean in the shoot-off. I had in my mind from the start that she wouldn’t get me this time and I just went very strong into my match.   Compound Men   Hafid JAIME (MEX) I am very happy, every time I feel more confident and less nervous. In my match, I broke four arrows in a row as they crashed one in each other.   Patrizio HOFER (SUI) – as he qualified for the World Cup Final I had a really tough season this year... the only thing that was working is my equipment. I had great difficulty and no motivation, not much training. In the end, I prepared myself very well for this event, and with a bit of luck I made it to the World Cup Final and I am so happy!   Jorge JIMENEZ (ESA) - as he qualified for the World Cup Final I am so happy, I cannot believe I made it again to the World Cup Final! All the people in my country are hanging on news on my qualification, and I am proud for my country once again. Now I am just going to work very hard for Copenhagen!   Sergio PAGNI (ITA) - as he qualified for the World Cup Final I feel very strong now. I came here to win, not just to participate. This event was very important to me. The qualifications of the World Cup stages were very good and here I shot very good matches with high scores. As I heard the speaker announce that I was in the Final with Patrizio (HOFER) and Jorge (JIMENEZ), I was so relieved! I am glad to be again in the Final with Patrizio, who is a great friend of mine. But I hope this time we will meet in the Gold Final.   Compound Women   Nicky HUNT (GBR) - as she qualified for the World Cup Final The competition was good. In the qualifications, the long distances were not ideal, but I got better afterwards. I felt quite confident in the head to heads, I shot two very nice rounds. It was a good tournament, I am happy and sweaty.  Luzmary GUEDEZ (VEN) photo - as she lost her match against LOGINOVA (RUS) in the quarterfinal I am very happy, I shot much better than in the qualifications. Now we wait and see on the results of the competition to confirm my qualification to the World Cup Final!   Ivana BUDEN (CRO) The competition is going well, everything worked fine and I had a decent World Cup. The qualifications were OK and the eliminations got better match after match. Now I just wait for the outcome of the competition to see if I go to Copenhagen or not!   Olga BOSCH (VEN) I feel very good, I have done very good results so far in the World Cup, but this competition was more tough... We are not used to this food and I got sick the past days...   Chantal STEINER FITA Communication
