Turkish Airlines substitutes Airbus with Boeing
Lausanne
The official airline of FITA continues to play an important role in the transport of the archery family. Approximately 70 archers and officials had booked a seat on the Airbus A340-300 scheduled to fly from Istanbul to Seoul on August 27th. Reservations of passengers appeared to be too numerous to fit in the usually crowded Airbus. Turkish Airlines solved the problem by substituting the original airplane with a Boeing 777-300ER, an aircraft with a higher passenger capacity. Thanks to the change operated by the airline, everyone could travel to South Korea Thursday night. Delegations from Turkey, Croatia, Moldova and Uzbekistan, among others, as well as a team of FITA officials and staff flew from Istanbul to the Korean capital before catching a flight to Ulsan.
Last but not least, the FITA passengers could enjoy a 12kg extra of luggage and all the bow cases arrived safely at destinations.
