A Mixed Team event will be held as exhibition in Ulsan Ulsan (KOR) – 5 September 2009
  The mixed competition, launched this year on the occasion of the World Cup, has been approved by the FITA Congress and will be officially introduced in 2010. For now, the Mixed Team event will be held in Ulsan as exhibition. In recurve, Korea will hope to clinch the gold medal, while the competition is more open in the compound division. The qualification scores of the best two archers of each country having at least one competitor per gender gave the mixed team ranking. The 8 best nations qualified for the quarterfinals. A mixed team match is made up of 16 arrows, each team shooting four ends of four arrows. Recurve Mixed Team In the recurve division, the top-seeded individual man and woman, KWAK Ye-Ji and OH Jin-Hyek, will make a great team from Korea. They topped the mixed team qualifications with 2750 points, more than 50 points better than the next team, Chinese Taipei, ranked 2ndwith 2697. The French pair of Romain GIROUILLE and Bérengère SCHUH, a close 3rd with 2696 points, will be fighting for a medal. In the quarterfinals, top-seeded Korea will shoot against Canada (seeded No. 8 with 2664 points). The match will probably be very close between the Ukraine, who qualified in 5th with 2680 points, and the USA, No. 4 qualifier at 2682. The No. 2 seed Chinese Taipei will fight against Mexico, who qualified in 7th with 2668 points. Finally, the last game will be between the No. 3 France (2696) and the No. 6 China (2678). Compound Mixed Team In compound, the German pairing of Melanie MIKALA and Paul TITSCHER is at the top of the ranking with 2766 points. The Russian pair of Albina LOGINOVA and Vladimir FEDOSOV was a close 2nd in qualifications with 2765, only 1 point behind the German team. Erika ANSCHUTZ and Reo WILDE from the USA qualified in 3rd with 2760, ahead of Mexico, 4th with 2758. The fight for the gold medal is open in this division.
Germany will shoot against the No. 8 seed Canada. Mexico (No. 4) will try to defeat the No. 5 Denmark. The No. 3 qualifier USA and Italy (No.6) will fight for a spot in the semifinals. The remaining match will be between the runner-up from qualifications Russia and the 7th-seed France.
The Mixed Team event will take place on Sunday 6 September
