Kahraman BAGATIR has left us
Lausanne – 9 December 2009
First Vice-President of Turkish Archery Federation, EMAU Council Member, Organiser of several Golden Arrow Grand Prix, World Championships and World Cup Events Kahraman BAGATIR passed away on Sunday 6 December. His contribution to the development of the sport is without any discussion and the Turkish Archery Family is in shock today as a result of this sudden and unexpected passing away.
Born on 14 April 1951 in Turkey, Kahraman was a fully committed volunteer to the sport of Archery. Everyone in Archery knows him. He is the example of a person who dedicated his life to sport in general and Archery in particular.
The World of Archery, the FITA President, FITA Council, FITA Staff and all the archers worldwide that have known Kahraman send their sincere condolences to his beloved wife, his daughters and his son as well as the entire Turkish Archery Community.

Said Prof Dr Ugur ERDENER, the FITA President: "I am deeply sorry for the very sudden and unexpected loss of my dear and longtime friend, Mr. Kahraman BAGATIR. Kahraman was a very valued and true friend to me personally and was also very devoted to the sport of archery for many, many years. He was a dedicated supporter of archery programmes both in Turkey and around the world. He made many invaluable contributions of time and effort to the Golden Arrow and World Cup Events, European and World Championships over many years and was in a large measure responsible for the great success enjoyed at all these archery tournaments. On many levels he will be missed very much. I extend to his family and friends my sincerest condolences for their great loss."
Mr BAGATIR's funeral took place on Wednesday in Ankara.
