19 January 2010 - Cancellation of the 1st Leg of the European Grand Prix

1st Leg of the European Grand Prix Cancelled Rome (ITA) – 19 January 2010   The Hellenic Archery Federation announced their decision to cancel the organization of the 1st leg of the European Grand Prix, which was scheduled from 20-25 April 2010 in Rhodes (GRE).   The Hellenic Archery Federation announced their decision to cancel the tournament due to the financial crisis. The Secretary General of the Federation Mr Gerasimos RAPTIS wrote that “The reason which forced us to take such a decision is that the Greek General Secretariat of Sports didn’t give us the permission to undertake such an event, given the current financial situation in Greece”. For this reason the European and Mediterranean Archery Union (EMAU) had to remove the 1st leg of the Grand Prix 2010 from the international calendar.   Marinella PISCIOTTI EMAU Secretary General
