12 February 2010 - The 1992 Olympic Medallists Reunited in Nimes

The 1992 Olympic Medallists Reunited in Nimes 12 February 2010     With one week to go to the secong leg of the first ever World Archery Indoor Challenge in Las Vegas, we received this historical picture from the Tournament of Nîmes.

Here are the gold, silver and bronze medallists from the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games: Sébastien FLUTE (FRA, centre), CHUNG Jae-Hun (KOR, left) and Simon TERRY (GBR, right). The three champions met last month in Nîmes, where they competed in the European Indoor Tournament.    Remarkably, CHUNG Jae-Hun (KOR) became individual and team World Champion in 2005 in Madrid (ESP), 13 years after his Olympic silver! Simon TERRY retired from international competition two years after Barcelona and made a very successfull come-back with a 2nd place at last year's World Cup Final. As for Sebastien FLUTE, the former gold medallist retired following the 2000 Olympics in Sydney and is attempting to come back for the 2012 Games.   Now that the Tournament of Nimes is over, archers can still register for the Las Vegas Tournament, to be held on 19-21 February, and have a chance to claim the prize money of the World Archery Indoor Challenge…   FITA Communication Photo Jean-Denis GITTON Fédération Française de Tir à l'Arc / www.ffta.fr
