Visegrad opening ceremony! Visegrad – 13 July 2010  The World Archery Field Championships in Visegrad, Hungary were officially opened today!   The athletes, coaches and officials of the World Archery Field Championships Visegrad 2010 gathered by the Salamon Tower in the town’s castle.   Athletes and referees said their oath to compete and judge with fair-play. Then the Deputy Mayor Mr CELLER and the President of the Hungarian Archery Association Sebastian VANKY (photo)delivered their official speeches, before the FITA Secretary General Tom DIELEN declared the world championships opened.    The ceremony was concluded with a demonstration of historical war games by the Visegradi Szent György Lovagrend. Finally every one was conveyed to a boat tour on the famous Danube.   A total of 232 archers from a record of 26 countries will compete during the week in the beautiful surroundings of Visegrad. The qualifications and eliminations will take place until Friday. The team event will take place on Saturday with finals at the Visegrad castle. This spectacular venue will also host the individual finals on Sunday; a true show for spectators!   World Archery Communication
