Compound Men   Rodger WILLET Jr (USA)   Since I was the No. 16 seed, I had to play against the No. 1 seed, none the less that the current world champion Reo WILDE (USA). He is a great archer and he actually beat the world record in qualifications yesterday. So I am very happy that I won this match and went on all the way to the gold final.   I think compound archers are not 100% acclimated to this new Compound Round at 50m yet. Probably after a while, we will all be OK about it.   Compound Women   Erika ANSCHUTZ (USA)   I am glad I made it to the gold final on Saturday, especially after two hard-fought matches in the quarterfinals and semifinals. In the quarterfinals, I met Albina LOGINOVA (RUS) and we have had many matches against one another in the last two years. I am glad this time I got the upper hand. In the semi, I played against my teammate and good friend Diane WATSON—so that made it difficult. I am happy that she made it so far in the competition as well. The 50-metre distance has worked well for me today, but I still prefer shooting at 70 metres.   Please watch the complete interviews of Erika ANSCHUTZ (USA) and Rodger WILLET Jr (USA) on www.archery.tv   Dominique GENET and Joanna CHESSE (FRA) – compound mixed team bronze medallist   Joanna CHESSE   When Dominique shot an X10 in the shoot-off, it relieved us from the pressure. I was in good conditions to shoot another 10 myself. This bronze medal caps a very nice day of archery. Actually Porec is a good place for me: I won the compound team event at the first edition in 2006. I started this year very well with a victory at the indoor tournament in Nimes and I hope to continue in the same fashion.   Dominique GENET   Well, it is a good bronze medal. Like Joanna, I also won a medal at the very first World Cup ever in Porec, in 2006, the bronze in individual. Over the years, I have had some nice results here, although this morning I wasn’t so successful in individuals. We are often time starting the outdoor season well in Porec, but hopefully this year it will continue until the end.   World Archery Communication
