GELLENTHIEN and SEOK remain on top of the Longines Prize for Precision 2013

The Longines Prize for Precision awards the most precise male and female athlete throughout the World Cup season. Athletes that shoot the most 10s during their individual qualifications and matches as of the 1/16 elimination round win the trophy, a Longines watch and a cheque of 5,000 Swiss Francs. This year, the Longines Prize will be awarded during the Final in Paris, scheduled for 21-22 September. 
The Longines Prize for Precision award was first established in 2010; awarding recurve athletes in even years and compound athletes in odd years. During the 2012 season, recurve shooters Brady ELLISON (USA) and KI Bo Bae (KOR) clinched this award for shooting the most 10s. 
After Antalya and despite his defeat in the semi-finals against Austria’s Georg DOLLINGER, GELLENTHIEN (photo) holds on top of the men’s division ranking with 227 10s. The Danish Martin DAMSBO follows closely behind with 226 10s.
SEOK is more comfortably installed on top of the women’s division with 180 10s. The second ranked is the American Erika JONES with 161 10s. By the Mediterranean shores, SEOK was beaten in the final by Colombia’s Sara LOPEZ (main photo). Absent in Shanghai, LOPEZ turns up in force and takes the 19th place with 85 10s. SEOK could lose her leader’s position as she will not be on the shooting line at the next World Cup stage that will be held on 15-21 July at Sara LOPEZ’s home place in Medellin (COL).
