Archery Premier League: First round robin completed in Delhi
The first phase of the inaugural 2025 Archery Premier League has concluded at the Yamuna Sports Complex in Delhi, India.
Since the league kicked off on 3 October, five nights of round-robin action have seen all six teams face each other once. The Rajputana Royals, featuring Mete Gazoz and Ella Gibson, sit unbeaten at the top of the table.
The Royals narrowly edged the Chero Archers in a tiebreak on 6 October to maintain their dominance. Gibson, brought in specifically for the shoot-off, was the only archer on either team to score a 10.
“I wasn’t expecting us to get down to a shoot-off and I was super nervous coming on stage just for that and not having a shot in a while, but I just tried to take a breath and do one arrow,” said Gibson.
On the same night, the whipping boys of the group, the Katakiya Knights, recorded their first win, beating third-placed Chola Chiefs 5-3.

A nightly prize for the best male and female recurve and compound archers on 6 October went to Aman Saini, Parneet Kaur and Dhiraj Bommadevara of the Mighty Marathas, and Katharina Bauer of the Chero Archers.
Saini, Kaur and Bommadevara are leading the respective tables for best arrow average across the tournament, with Bauer second behind the Royals’ Ankita Bhakat.
The league uses the set system, with each end consisting of eight arrows – two each from four archers on the eight-strong teams. Not all archers have been fielded so far, with several remaining on the bench.
The competition continues with a second round-robin phase over the next five nights, followed by semifinals and a final on 12 October.
