Executive board to meet in Lausanne on 14-15 December 2025
The World Archery executive board will convene this weekend in Lausanne (Switzerland) for a comprehensive meeting to outline priorities for the federation’s long-term future.
It is the first time the executive board has met in person since the Hyundai World Archery Championships in September in Gwangju (Korea), where Greg Easton was elected the federation’s 10th president.
Hosting the first meeting in the Olympic Capital reconfirms World Archery’s commitment to the Olympic Movement. The outcomes of the International Olympic Committee Summit held in Lausanne last week will be a key topic at the meeting, particularly the latest recommendations regarding AIN status.
Possible qualification procedures for the upcoming LA28 Olympic Games and Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games will be presented.
The event will also mark the formal introductions of new secretary general Raul Calin and executive director Juan Carlos Holgado to the board. The new administrative structure of the office and management of the World Archery Excellence Centre will be discussed.
Much of the two-day agenda is dedicated to building a new vision for the sport.
This includes the future event structure and building a new development department and strategy, which prioritises direct assistance to member associations.
Several bylaws will be voted on by the board, including:
- The optional adoption of the teal target face for field archery.
- The requirement for contrasting uniform colours in televised matchplay.
- A new signature procedure for scorecards allowing for correction.
Key outcomes will be published following the conclusion of the meeting on 15 December 2025.
