The World Archery Executive Board has approved several updates to the 2027 international calendar, including revised dates for the Hyundai Archery World Cup circuit, confirmation of the World Archery Championships dates in Medellin (Colombia), and one-off championship recognition of the archery competitions at the 2027 World Masters Games.

The board approved the decisions during an online meeting held on Friday 26 June 2026.

Hyundai Archery World Cup stages will take place in Shanghai (13-18 April), Antalya (4-9 May), Tijuana (8-13 June) and Madrid (6-11 July) in 2027. The 21st Hyundai Archery World Cup Final has been tentatively rescheduled for 29 July to 1 August, with a host to be announced soon.

The dates of the 2027 Hyundai World Archery Championships in Medellin (Colombia) are confirmed for 20-27 September, immediately following the 2027 World Archery Congress on 17-18 September.

The Executive Board also approved one-off recognition of the archery competition at the 2027 World Masters Games in Kansai (Japan) as the World Archery Masters Championships for the 50+ age group.

A standalone World Archery Masters Championships has been held once, in Lausanne (Switzerland) in 2018.

Governance update

World Archery President Greg Easton updated the Executive Board on the International Olympic Committee’s Fit for the Future workshop held in May, the ASOIF General Assembly, and the recent IOC Extraordinary Session.

These discussions reinforced the need for World Archery to remain nimble, relevant, and better able to adapt more quickly to a changing international sports environment.

In this context, the Executive Board reviewed the findings of the sixth ASOIF governance review, covering the 2024-2025 period. World Archery has maintained its position in Group B since the review’s inception in 2017, but the Board has identified governance improvement as a priority.

Proposals to update the World Archery Constitution and relevant bylaws will be developed for consideration at the 2027 Congress, with the aim of strengthening governance, improving agility, and positioning the federation for a higher ranking in the next evaluation cycle.

The Executive Board also reviewed the 2025 financial report presented by the external auditors, PwC. Following the 2025 deficit, the Board has initiated a series of measures throughout 2026 to address the underlying structural factors, support financial stability, and provide a more sustainable outlook for the coming cycle.

As part of its commitment to transparency and best practice, the Board has also decided to initiate a formal tender process for future external auditing services, and will consider whether higher-level accounting standards should be implemented across the organisation.
