The winners of the 2025 World Archery Awards have been revealed, recognising standout performances and contributions across the international archery season.

Compound archer Emircan Haney of Türkiye was named archer of the year following a breakthrough campaign that saw him secure victory at the Hyundai Archery World Cup Final in Nanjing.

The 24-year-old delivered consistent performances across the season, culminating in the biggest title of his career and confirming his rise among the world’s leading compound archers.

“Today is the most special moment in my 15-year archery career,” said Haney. “The fact that this award was decided by public vote makes it even more meaningful to me.”

“I will continue to work with the same determination and dedication towards my goals. This award is not just for me, but for all young people who follow their dreams.”

French recurve archer Baptiste Addis was named young star of the year (under-21), while India’s Sheetal Devi took the honour in the para archer of the year category after another breakthrough season that included a world title in Gwangju.

This year’s edition introduced a revised set of award categories.

A new fair play category was presented to France’s Florent Mulot following a remarkable act of sportsmanship at the 2025 World Games in Chengdu.

During a match, Mulot noticed that his Chinese opponent had drawn towards the wrong target and alerted him before the shot was released, preventing what would have been a costly mistake. Mulot ultimately lost the match by two points.

“This is a victory I share with all those who care about the values of sport,” said the 33-year-old. “We all practise archery for the pleasure it brings, and for those moments when we feel truly intense emotions.”

“We have to respect our values and stay true to our principles – that’s the only way to achieve a true victory, the one we win for ourselves.”

In the coaching category, Elias Cuesta was recognised as coach of the year leading USA’s national team, while the Korean recurve men were named best team of 2025 after another dominant season on the international circuit.

In the officiating category, Brazil’s Lais Machado Nunes was named judge of the year.

A new best event of the year award was also introduced as part of the 2025 edition, with the Gwangju 2025 Hyundai World Archery Championships named the inaugural winner. The award, selected by the World Archery executive board, recognises excellence in the delivery and impact of international archery events.

The 2025 World Archery Awards honour the season’s most exceptional athletes and officials for their excellence, fair play and dedication to the sport.

The winners were revealed during a livestream hosted by former international Bernardo Oliveira, alongside panellists Lizzy Rees, Audrey Adiceom and Willem Bakker.

The archer of the year award was decided by public vote, with fans selecting their favourite athlete from a shortlist of nominees across recurve, compound and para categories.

The public was invited to vote online for their favourite archer from the following nominees: Andrea Becerra, Brady Ellison, Mike Schloesser, Kang Chaeyoung, Nicolas Girard, Franck Eyeni, Andres Temiño, Mariana Bernal, Emircan Haney and Mathias Fullerton.

All other award categories were decided by appointed panels.

The World Archery Awards were launched in 2011 to recognise excellence and contribution in the sport. They celebrate the athletes and support staff who have shaped the international archery season.
