Jamie Van Natta (USA) sets two new FITA World Records Lausanne - 3 August 2006  US Archery Member Jamie Van Natta shot the highest score in Women’s Compound history on the 2nd of August at the US Nationals: 1402 out of a possible 1440! The previous World Record dated from 2003 and was set at that time by Van Natta’s teammate Mary Zorn at 1401 points.     This new World Record is pending until reception of the official applications from the USArchery (national federation) and then ratification by FITA (International Archery Federation).   Besides, Jamie Van Natta set recently another new World Record for the 70m Round (72 arrows) with 701 points. This other great score was achieved at the Gold Cup in Bloomfield, NJ, USA on the 3rd of June.   The American archer, who seems to be in her best form, hopes to qualify for the Archery World Cup Great Final to be held in Mexico on the 22nd of October. After a 2nd place both in Porec (CRO) in May and in San Salvador (ESA) in June, she is now 3rd in the World Cup ranking before the last series takes place in Shanghai (CHN) at the end of September.   Van Natta also has good hopes of improving her fifth rank from the last World Field Archery Championships (2004) at the coming Worlds to be held from 27th of August to 2nd of September in Göteborg, Sweden.   The FITA family wishes to congratulate Jamie Van Natta for her new World Records!    1407 points for Hofer (SUI)    Swiss compound archer Patrizio Hofer has achieved 1407 points on the FITA Round at an international tournament in Karlsruhe, Germany last week-end.
