Italy qualifies both Mixed Teams for the Final in Copenhagen!

Recurve Mixed Team It all started with a shoot-off between India and Russia, as they were tied in the qualifications. A second shoot-off was need as both teams shot 19 pts. India untied the match with 20 pts, while Russia could only manage 19. The first semi-final saw Korea shoot against India, after they won their shoot-off. In the first end, India was ahead with 39-37, but they could not keep pace and were tied in the second end at 74 pts. Korea continued strong to take the lead with three Xs and one 10 and finally won the match by 10 pts 153-143. The second semi-final between China and France saw the host country take the lead as of the start, without letting a chance to the French to come back. China won the match 148-137. The bronze Medal was then fought between India and France, and what a fight! In the first end, France took a one-point lead with 34-33. India came back and took over France to lead 69-67. But the French are not so easy to beat, knowing that Berengere is shooting for Gold in the individual side on Sunday and Romain has just qualified for the World Cup Final. They tied the match in the third end at 103 pts, and thanks to a 6 on the Indian side, France won the match with a final score of 140-138. The golden all-Asian final match between Korea and China will take place on Sunday.
Compound Mixed Team
Compound pairs started with matches: Italy vs. Denmark and Russia vs. Mexico.
The first semi-final ITA – DEN started with a tie 38-38 after the first end, to continue very close till the end. The second end finished with one-point advantage for Denmark (76-75), but in the third end the Italian pair caught them up again (113-113) after their opponents shot a 7. The last end showed that the Danes were more focused. Although both teams scored 8’s, the Danes shot three 10’s, against one 10 and two 9’s on the Italian side. Final score 151-149 for Denmark!
The second semi-final (RUS-MEX) was also a tight match up to the last end. They started with one point advantage for Mexico (40-39) and it stayed that way through the second end (77-76). In the third end, the Russians tied the Mexicans (113-113), and on all targets (including the first semi-final) we could see the 113 score. The Mexicans shot greatly in the end and won against the Russians 150-148.
The bronze medal match, Italy-Russia, started off with a two-point advantage for the Russians (39-37), with only one arrow lying outside the 10-ring. Second end was tied (76-76). The third end finished with one point advantage for the Italians (115-114) and they have defended it until the final arrow winning Bronze against the Russians (153-152).
