9 Countries Win Medals at the 2nd Asian Grand Prix
Gold Silver Bronze Total 1 INDIA 11 4 1 16 2 KOREA 2 3 3 8 3 MYANMAR 2 0 2 4 4 THAILAND 1 2 4 7 5 IRAN 0 3 1 4 6 VIETNAM 0 2 3 5 7 CHINESE TAIPEI 0 1 0 1 7 PHILIPPINES 0 1 0 1 9 KAZAKHSTAN 0 0 2 2
In total 9 countries obtained the medals in the competitions. The Indians dominated the competition with 16 medals, of which 11 gold. The host country won 4 medals, which is by far their best result ever. It shows the great diversity and the development of the region. A country that has made a lot of progress is Myanmar. Two countries that did not yet win medals but that are also going up are Nepal and Bangladesh. Also to notice is that, although Korea is 2nd in the table, they would only be 4th tied with Iran and Vietnam if we look at the match-play results only, since in Asia distance medals are given as well.
So the development program of the Asian Archery Federation and the accredited training centre in Thailand are producing concrete results. The Asian Games in November will be more open than ever, especially in the team competitions. Download the complete results
