The experienced American archer Reo WILDE won the team and mixed team events at the World Cup 2011 Stage 1 in Porec, Croatia at the beginning of the month. Last weekend he qualified 2nd at the U.S. Trials to make the team for the World Archery Championships 2011 in Turin, Italy where he will defend two titles (individual and team). Several times world champion and World Cup events winner, he has been nominated as the World Archery Athlete of the Week!
Reo WILDE has been competing in archery for 16 years, six with a recurve bow and the past 10 years with his compound bow. In 2006 after winning the first ever World Cup Final in Mexico, he was nominated as the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) Athlete of the Year and USOC Athlete of the Month in October.
The American is the reigning individual and team world champion, titles he won at the World Archery Championships 2009 in Ulsan, Korea. In 2011 he started the World Cup season with two wins (team and mixed team) at Stage 1 in Croatia, beating the individual 50m Round (72 arrows) world record with 711 points in the qualifications. photo
Besides competing in national and international tournaments, WILDE provides group seminars throughout the year. He also organises individual sessions covering three main areas: bow setup, shot sequence, and building confidence.
