World’s No. 1 leads Longines Prize for Precision 2012

Longines Prize for Precision The Longines Prize for Precision for archery was launched in 2010. The two most precise archers during the World Cup season from two categories will win the trophy, a watch and 5,000 Swiss francs. The prize alternates between the recurve and compound categories each year, and in 2012 the recurve athletes who shoot the most 10s during all individual qualifications and matches as of the 1/16 eliminations of the World Cup will win the Longines Prize for Precision.   On the men’s side, the winner of the Longines Prize in 2010, who is No. 1 in the world and a double World Cup Final defending champion, Brady ELLISON, has already built a good lead in the Longines Prize Ranking. So far he has shot 158 tens, while his closest pursuers are Gael PREVOST (FRA) with 136 and IM Dong Hyun (KOR) with 132. It would take a top notch performance by either PREVOST or IM to catch ELLISON in Tokyo. Will the American become the first man to win two Longines Prizes for Precision and three World Cup Finals? The top 10 ranked athletes right now are listed below:   Archers Country Number of 10's   1 Ellison Brady USA 158 2 Prevost Gael France 136 3 Im Dong Hyun Korea 132 4 Kim Woojin Korea 122 4 Rai Tarundeep India 122 4 Rodriguez Juan I. She currently leads the Prize with 105 tens and her main opponents for this race in Tokyo are Jennifer NICHOLS (USA), who currently has 87, and CHOI Heyonju (KOR), with 85.
