Allan WILLS recipient of Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal
Lausanne
After careful review, the Canadian Olympic Committee's Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal Nomination Committee has selected 41 individuals who will be recognised for their exceptional work within the Canadian high-performance sport community. These individuals have made tremendous contributions to the Canadian Olympic Movement and the advancement of sport in Canada. Archery Canada’s President, Allan (Al) WILLS, is one of the 41 recipients selected by the COC for this prestigious honour. Al WILLS has been a long-serving and committed volunteer to the sport of archery in numerous capacities, both in Canada and internationally. His contribution is far-reaching and second to none. He consistently displays a keen and genuine passion and love for archery. As well, he always carries out his volunteer roles and responsibilities with tireless enthusiasm. As a result, Al WILLS has quietly and deservedly earned the respect of athletes, coaches, officials, parents and volunteer/staff administrators from across Canada and from around the World. Under his strong leadership and direction, both Archery Canada and archery in Canada have and continue to grow and prosper. There is no doubt that the body of work that Al WILLS has undertaken and contributed, to Archery Canada and the Canadian archery community, is extraordinary. He is most deserving of this honour bestowed on him. The Canadian Olympic Committee publicly announced the Diamond Jubilee recipients on February 6th in conjunction with Queen Elizabeth II Accession Day, at a formal event hosted by Canada’s Governor General, the Rt. Honourable David JOHNSTON, at Rideau Hall. Archery Canada Edited by World Archery Communication
