Nottingham looks forward to a Grand day of archery!

And there promises to be another great day of tense and spectacular competition as the fifth year of the AGB National Series competition reaches its finale. It all gets underway at 10:00 on Sunday morning, with the compound tournament dominating the morning session, and the recurvers taking over in the afternoon. Admission for spectators is free, and organisers are looking forward to welcoming a big crowd to support the 16 finalists.
"It's going to be a fantastic day, in a spectacular environment, and I'm so excited about this year's Grand Final," said senior organiser Jon NOTT. "There's going to be a great atmosphere. We have 16 fantastic archers, and the competition will be fierce—last year we had four first-time champions, and that could happen again this time, but I can't see Larry (GODFREY) or Adam (RAVENSCROFT) giving up their titles without a fight, while Naomi (FOLKARD) and Lucy (O'SULLIVAN) have both been shooting well enough to suggest they're more than capable of winning another title."
Larry GODFREY and Adam RAVENSCROFT, in recurve and compound men respectively, are the two defending champions chasing a second successive title. Lucy O'SULLIVAN is a two time former compound women’s champion, while Naomi FOLKARD won the recurve women’s event in 2010.
Both Larry and Naomi are appearing in their fifth successive Grand Final, an achievement they will be sharing on Sunday with men's compounder Liam GRIMWOOD. Five archers—Michael JUDD, Ashe MORGAN, Abbie FISHER, Matt ARNOLD, and Michael CAUWE—will be taking part in a National Series Grand Final for the first time.
Indeed, Michael CAUWE, who is from Belgium, becomes only the second non-Briton—after Jenny JEPPSSON of Sweden—to make the Grand Final, while Nicky HUNT has now reached the Grand Final as both a compound (2009) and recurve archer.
