Kyle Douglas, Bodie Turner maintain perfect pace to lead Vegas Shoot after day two
Former champions Kyle Douglas and Bodie Turner maintained their perfect pace in the compound men’s field, both reaching 600 with 60 10X after the second day of competition at the Vegas Shoot.
A total of 44 compound men remained clean, with one day – 30 arrows – left in qualification. The group includes several top names, among them Gwangju 2025 World Archery Champion Nicolas Girard, Mike Schloesser, Ajay Scott, Abhishek Verma and Stephan Hansen.
Day one co-leader Mathias Fullerton dropped a point on day two, shooting 299 for a total of 599.
In the women’s competition, 11 of the 18 athletes who opened with a perfect 300 remained flawless to reach 600. The group features reigning Indoor World Series champion Tanja Gellenthien, defending Vegas champion Gracen Fletcher, former world number one Ella Gibson and day one leader Morgan Rives.
However, the standings were led by USA’s Olivia Dean and India’s Muskan Kirar – a two-time Asia Cup winner – who topped the X-count with 51 10X from 60 arrows.
In recurve men, USA’s Brady Ellison, the reigning series champion, held onto the lead with a second consecutive 296 for a total of 592.
Mexico’s Matias Grande delivered the best score of the day with 298, moving into second place on 591 alongside France’s Thomas Chirault, who shot 295. Brazil’s Marcus D’Almeida and USA’s Nicolas D’Amour followed on 589 and 588, respectively
The recurve women’s competition was led by defending and reigning series champion Casey Kaufhold on 589 after a 295 round, giving her a two-point advantage over Angela Ruiz, Gabriela Schloesser and day one leader Victoria Sebastian, all tied on 587.
The Vegas Shoot is the seventh and final stage of the Indoor Archery World Series.
Points towards the elite and open rankings have been accumulated since October across events in Lausanne, Luxembourg, Taipei, Rio, Nimes, Merida and Vegas to determine the series champions.
